Aaron Rubin Scholarship
The Fort Worth Chapter of TAAP offers scholarships to students attending an accredited school that are engaged in studies leading towards being licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Texas; Or a current Fort Worth TAAP member working towards a master’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree in the Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Social Work, Human Service Technology, etc.).
The application period is open until April 15th.
Counselor of the Year Award
This annual award recognizes a counselor in the field of addiction treatment who has worked in the trenches with the clients and their families, and who has contributed both to their industry, community ,and the TAAP organization in the true spirit of recovery.
Professional of the Year Award
This annual award was created to recognize a professional in the field of addiction prevention, intervention, or treatment who has made outstanding and sustained contributions to the advancement of the profession and commitment to their community and the TAAP organization.
Peer Support of the Year Award
Addiction Peer Support of the Year awards honor individuals using lived experience to aid recovery. Celebrates those who make significant contributions to the recovery community while holding high ethical standards.

Applications for the 2026 MFP Scholarship are open until June 30th.
The NBCC Foundation (NBCCF) is pleased to announce the 2026 application period for the NBCCF Minority Fellowship Program for Addictions Counseling (MFP-AC). This program is made possible by a grant awarded to the NBCC Foundation in collaboration with NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The program will administer up to 43 master’s degree–level Counseling fellowships of $15,000 for Addictions Counseling students, plus the travel expenses to participate in other program-related trainings.
The NBCCF MFP helps ensure that the behavioral health needs of all Americans are met, thereby improving overall community health and well-being. By strategically promoting and providing fellowships to master’s-level Counseling students, the NBCCF MFP strengthens the infrastructure that engages individuals in Counseling and increases the number of substance use disorder Professional Counselors who provide direct substance use disorder services to communities.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate knowledge of and experience in addictions/substance use services to one or more communities.
