 “Understanding Eating Disorders: Breaking Stigma, Building Support”

Learning Objectives

The presenter will discuss different types of eating disorders including diagnostic criteria, review myths contributing to stigma around eating disorders, detail ED/SUD comorbidity, discuss EAT-26 assessments and referral process, identify different treatment options and levels of care, and specifically review Eating Disorder Solutions treatment offerings.

Presenter Bio

Nicole Sallee is a multifaceted force in the world of behavioral health, distinguished by her diverse expertise and unwavering commitment to empowering individuals. Nicole’s educational journey led her to Walden University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Counseling. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Grief Specialist, Nicole brings a unique blend of skills to her practice, marked by compassion and professionalism.

With an impressive 12-year tenure in behavioral health, Nicole has honed her ability to connect with individuals on a profound level. She champions the belief that each person is the expert in their own life and the hero of their own story. This empowering philosophy serves as the cornerstone of her therapeutic approach, emphasizing collaboration, goal-setting, and progress with steadfast support and optimism.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Nicole’s personal life is a vibrant combination of roles and interests. As a married mother of four incredible humans, she extends her nurturing spirit as “Mama Sallee” to many bonus kids. Nestled in the countryside with three dogs and four cats, Nicole’s home is a haven for both family and furry friends. Nicole’s love for literature, music, and the arts is evident in her role as a self-proclaimed book nerd and avid concert-goer. 

Guided by the mantra, “Make the world a better place as a result of your life,” Nicole embodies the essence of proactive change and meaningful action. Her genuine desire to help others, coupled with her exceptional abilities, fuels her dedication to the field of behavioral health. For Nicole, this is not just a career—it’s a calling that aligns seamlessly with her passion for making a positive impact on the lives of those she serves.
